Reasons why April 1 is a particularly unfortunate day for an earthquake:
1) April Fools diehards
2) Hawai'i tests their tsunami warning sirens every first of the month.
Editorial side-note: April Fools is not a "holiday" I have much of an appreciation for. To make celebration of lying to people, particularly those you trust, does not sit well with me. Even the satirical humorist in me. Truth is hilariously absurd enough as it is.
